Moelis & Company has appointed Tim Fitzsimmons as the new managing director of its private funds advisory business.

Fitzsimmons, who is due to join the firm in August, will be based in New York.

In an investment banking career spanning over 15 years, Fitzsimmons served stints at Credit Suisse’s private funds group, where he was responsible for marketing private market investment opportunities across various strategies such as buyout, growth, private debt and real assets.

Before joining Credit Suisse, he served for four years at Citigroup’s global loan capital markets and investment banking groups.

Moelis & Company’s private fund advisory business, which was set up in June 2014, offers capital raising, secondary and other independent advisory services to private fund sponsors as well as limited partners.

Valor Equity Partners III offers flexible capital to non-cyclical growth firms across diverse sectors including consumer, infrastructure/industrial services and manufacturing. The fund initially aimed for $350m and closed with $490m in committed capital.
