MFS Investment Management (MFS) has appointed Pilar Gomez-Bravo, CFA, and Robert Persons, CFA, as portfolio managers of MFS Charter Income Trust, a closed end fund, effective August 1, 2013.
MFS believes these appointments will strengthen the portfolio management team of MCR and will help support the achievement of its investment objective. There are no changes to the fund’s investment objective or strategy.

Gomez-Bravo and Persons will join a highly-experienced seven-person portfolio management team, which currently includes MFS portfolio managers William Adams, Ward Brown, David Cole, Richard Hawkins, Joshua Marston, Matthew Ryan and Erik Weisman.
Gomez-Bravo has joined MFS in 2013 as a fixed income portfolio manager and credit analyst, located in MFS’ London office. She has more 15 years of credit research, analysis and trading experience in both the asset management and investment banking industries.
Persons is a fixed income portfolio manager. He joined MFS in 2000 as an investment grade fixed income research analyst. Prior to joining MFS, he served twelve years as a bond analyst and portfolio manager at other asset management firms.
