Mercury Capital Advisors, a New York-based investment advisory firm, has named Nick Savasta as its new CIO and partner.

In the new role, Savasta will advise clients on alternative assets such as direct private equity investments and allocations to fund managers. He will report to the firm’s CEO and managing partner Michael Ricciardi.

Savasta most recently served as a managing director and co-head of the strategic investment group at Michael Dell-affiliated MSD Partners.

He previously also served as a senior merchant banker at Allen & Company, and as an investment banker in the corporate finance arm at Morgan Stanley.
