Mellon Capital Management Corporation, the San Francisco-based investment boutique of BNY Mellon, has named Jason Lejonvarn to the new position of London-based global investment strategist.

Lejonvarn will work with Mellon Capital’s global distribution and client services teams to develop customized investment solutions spanning a range of asset classes. He reports to Jeff Zhang, CFA, executive vice president and chief investment officer for Mellon Capital.

"Jason has extensive experience with alternative investments including real assets, a strong background in quantitative investing and risk modeling, and was instrumental in the launch of a variety of multi-asset investment solutions," said Zhang.

"We are confident that his skills and experiences will help Mellon Capital continue to grow and provide our clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with world-class support."

Lejonvarn comes to Mellon Capital from Hermes Fund Managers in London, where he was a strategist specializing in commodities.

Previously, he worked for Barclays Global Investors and Barra International. He received his bachelor’s degree from Macalester College and his master’s degree from Los Andes University in Bogota Colombia.
