Matthews Asia, a dedicated Asia-only investment specialist in the US, has hired Derek Chow as its new head of US intermediary distribution.
Based in San Francisco, Chow will be responsible for leading the firm’s US intermediary business, including RIA, family office, broker dealer and private bank clients.

Chow previously spent three years as a senior vice president and business development manager with Voya Investment Management (formerly ING Investment Management) where he was responsible for leading relationship management and national accounts with key broker/dealer partners.
Prior to this, he was head of US retail distribution for FAF Advisors/ First American Funds, where he led the firm’s external and internal wholesaling efforts and national accounts. He has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
Reporting to Frank Wheeler, global head of distribution and marketing for Matthews Asia, this new hire will add considerable experience to the firm’s distribution team and strengthen Matthews’ long-term commitment to growing its business within the US intermediary sales channel.
