Martin Currie, the specialist active equity manager, has appointed Michael Millar as investment manager in its Asian equities team.
Based in Edinburgh, Millar will report to Andrew Graham, investment director and head of Asia.

Before joining Martin Currie, Millar served as managing director and regional head of research at Naeem Brokerage, Cairo.
Previously, Miller has spent seven years at Société Générale where he held the roles of director, head of Asia telecoms research, and senior telecoms analyst and deputy head of research, based in Singapore and Bangkok respectively.
Andy Sowerby, executive director of sales, marketing and client services at Martin Currie, said: "Miller’s appointment is a further senior hire to underpin resource in the team and follows the appointment of Damian Taylor as investment manager to the team earlier this year.
