Manulife Asset Management has appointed Martin Powis and Alan Burnett to senior distribution roles in the UK & Ireland.
Powis has been named the company’s new head of institutional sales and relationship management, responsible for managing the development of relationships with corporate and public pension funds.

He will also work closely with the firm’s global consultant relations team.
Powis most recently served as the director of UK Institutional Sales at AXA Investment Management. Previously, he also worked in senior positions at DB Advisors, Ignis Asset Management and Gartmore Investment.
Burnett has been appointed as Manulife’s new head of wholesale sales and relationship management, responsible for building relationships with fund provider platforms and fund selectors at banks, wealth managers and family offices in the UK.
Before working at Manulife, Burnett served at Lyxor, responsible for building the firm’s alternatives and absolute return multi asset operations in the UK wholesale market.

By GlobalDataPreviously, he had a spell as head of UK wholesale at Martin Currie Investment Management, as well as worked in senior UK sales roles at Liontrust Asset Management, AXA Asset Management and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Unit Trust Management.
Powis and Burnett will be based in London in their new roles, and will report to Manulife Asset Management global head of distribution Claude Chene.
