Mackenzie Investments has formed a new investment team, which will look to combine all of firm’s research insights with the portfolio construction process in the mandates it will oversee.
The new team, dubbed Mackenzie Systematic Strategies Team, will take over the management of Mackenzie Canadian Large Cap Growth Fund, the equity part of Mackenzie Canadian Large Cap Balanced Fund and a number of institutional accounts from 30 September 2015.

Rick Weed, senior vice president, investment management, will head the new team, while Matthew Cardillo, vice president, investment management and portfolio manager on the newly formed team, will serve as co-manager of these mandates.
Additionally, Chuck Roth, manager of Mackenzie Canadian Large Cap Growth Fund and the equity component of Mackenzie Canadian Large Cap Balanced Fund, is set to retire from the firm. He joined Mackenzie Investments in 1997.
Furthermore, Christopher Sit, associate portfolio manager, who worked alongside Chuck Roth, will shift to the Mackenzie Growth Team on 30 September 2015.
