Lombard International Assurance has named former Merrill Lynch chief of wealth planning for the EMEA region Robert MacIntyre as head of its wealth structuring solutions unit.
MacIntyre, who joined Lombard over a year ago, will lead a 20-member team offering wealth planning capabilities to the firm’s business partners and their clients, International Adviser reported.

"It’s a tremendous opportunity, given the changing regulatory environment and increased transparency, life assurance is proving to be more valuable than ever as a wealth planning tool," the publication quoted MacIntyre as saying.
Also, Lombard has selected Daniel Starberg to lead its Nordic team, covering Finland, Sweden and Norway.
