London-based Liontrust Asset Management is planning to establish a new office in Luxembourg to expand its presence into continental Europe.

The company has hired James Beddall from F&C Investments to lead the new operations as co-head of international sales.

Based in Luxembourg, Beddall will work with Jonathan Hughes-Morgan to distribute Liontrust’s Dublin range of funds through global banks, private banks, multi-managers and institutional investors globally.

Beddall joined Liontrust from F&C, where he served as head of international wholesale sales. Prior to this, he worked for Credit Suisse Asset Management enhancing the firm’s fund sales and distribution in Europe.

He will also sell the funds in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Benelux and Nordic regions.

Additionally, Jonathan Harbottle, head of institutional sales, will retain responsibility for some clients in continental Europe.
