Fintech provider Linedata has released the latest version of its transfer agency solution Linedata Mshare, which offers enhanced private equity functionality, new cost basis capabilities and updates to the allocations module.

The version 10.8 of Mshare will operate as part of the company’s Admin Edge platform, an end-to-end fund administration solution for alternative, traditional and liquid alts funds.

Linedata said that the enhanced private equity functionality of the product will allow its clients to offer a wider range of services without the requirement of additional software.

The solution also features distribution waterfall functionality, which is required when a private equity fund liquidates its underlying holdings in order to distribute the fund’s assets as well as Private Equity recallable capital calls, which can recall capital if a capital call was overinvested.

Additionally, the upgraded version also comprises an automated solution for cost basis tax reporting for US clients.

Supplied by NetWorth Services, this solution will calculate the adjusted cost basis for covered and uncovered mutual funds, using a default tax lot accounting method or the elected Cost Basis Method Election provided which includes FIFO, LIFO, Specific, LOFO, HIFO, Average Single Category, Average Double Category and LGUT.

Linedata said that the cost basis reporting solution also adjusts mutual fund data for any corporate actions, including name changes, splits, mergers, dividends and capital gains reinvested, and tracks and reports on wash sales.

The latest version also includes several enhancements around the partnership performance fee side to facilitate specific partnership agreements such as transfer of beneficial ownership.
