Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM) has hired Justin Onuekwusi as fund manager for its risk-profiled multi-asset funds.

Onuekwusi joins LGIM’s strategic investment and risk management team which focuses on multi-asset solutions and pooled funds.

In his role, Onuekwusi will take charge of the recently launched L&G Multi-Index range, which features five risk-targeted multi-asset funds that are differentiated by asset class.

Onuekwusi, who will join LGIM from Aviva Investors, will work with fund managers Bruce White and Martin Dietz.

LGIM strategic investment and risk management head John Roe said, "Justin’s extensive experience in managing multi-asset risk targeted funds will be a great complement to our team’s capability, especially as we bring our new Multi-Index funds range to UK advisers."

At Aviva, Onuekwusi was lead manager on a range of the company’s risk-targeting multi-asset funds.

He also served as co-fund manager on a number of unit-linked life and pension funds and manager of manager products.

Prior to Aviva, Onuekwusi worked at Merrill Lynch as a fund research analyst and also served an investment consultant for Aon Consulting.
