American money manager Legg Mason has hired former JP Morgan executive Colin Taylor as its new sales director in Melbourne, Australia.

In his new role, Taylor will be responsible for promoting Legg Mason’s products and affiliate fund managers under the fund manager’s hybrid distribution structure that encompasses both institutional and retail segments of the market.

Most recently, Taylor served as vice president of institutional business at JP Morgan for three years.

Prior to this, Taylor spent 11 years at UBS in London, where his most recent position was executive director and head of prime brokerage.
