American investment management firm Legg Mason has appointed Joe O’Donnell as the head of wealth management distribution and investment trusts, a newly created role.
O’Donnell will report to Legg Mason head of UK sales Alexander Barry in the new role.

O’Donnell joined Legg Mason ten years ago and has since then been working as the firm’s regional sales director with responsibility for fund sales to intermediaries across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland .
Before working at Legg Mason, he had stints at Barclays Wealth and Rensburg Sheppards (now Investec Wealth and Investment).
