London-based law firm Eversheds has strengthened its consulting services business by launching a new financial services regulatory compliance offering.
The new compliance team will be spearheaded by financial services regulatory partner David Saunders, former deputy group general counsel at Nationwide Building Society.

The team aims to work on a wide range of governance, risk and compliance mandates including past business reviews, redress and remediation projects, s166 skilled persons reviews and due diligence, product design, testing and distribution and training and competence.
As part of the launch, Eversheds has hired six senior consultants and a team of compliance contractors in Eversheds Agile, including Jean-Paul Simoes and Jonathan Steward from EY and KPMG respectively.
The other new hires include Simon chapman, Noreen Husain and Clive Summers, who have joined from Resources Global Professionals (RGP) in January this year and Simon Collins, who joined this month also from RGP.
Eversheds head of financial institutions group Paul Worth said: "The growth of the Financial Services Regulatory Consulting practice has already seen the firm winning work which otherwise would have gone to the ‘big four’ accountants or risk consultants."
