Law firm Day Pitney has agreed to merge with Florida-based law firm Chapin Ballerano & Cheslack in a bid to expand its East Coast presence.
As part of the merger, Chapin’s seven attorneys will join Day Pitney’s trusts and estates and corporate practices upon completion of the merger on 1 January 2016.

According to Day Pitney, the combined firm will retain both of Chapin’s offices in Delray Beach and Boca Raton, Florida, and all personnel.
The seven attorneys include James Ballerano Jr. and Brian Cheslack, who will join as partners in Day Pitney’s trusts and estates group, while Robert Chapin, Stanley Greene and Jay Mussman will join the firm as of counsel, and Jay Kauffman and Brian Thompson will be associates.
They have experience in trust and estate planning, trust and estate administration, guardianship and litigation, elder law, as well as corporate and real estate and business transactions.

Day Pitney currently around 300 attorneys and operations in Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C. Day Pitney’s trust and estates practice group now has more than 50 attorneys.
