Bill Michael, EMA head of financial services at KPMG, said: "Mike is a great hire for our financial services business and we are delighted to welcome him to KPMG. With very relevant industry and consulting experience, Mike will be able to offer valuable insights and advice to our clients."
Mike Walters said: "KPMG’s financial services practice has a great name in the market and I am excited to now lead the financial risk management team. Financial institutions remain under pressure as regulatory and public scrutiny continues. A key challenge for the industry is to move on from legacy issues and to safeguard against future issues that could further erode trust in the sector and prevent the real economy growing. Increased and constructive dialogue between regulators and businesses is essential for this to happen, which is something I hope to encourage in my new role."
