Kleinwort Benson has reportedly hired forensic experts to investigate how financial details related to 20,000 customers were leaked to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), BBC News revealed.
"We take client and data confidentiality extremely seriously," a spokesman for Kleinwort Benson said.

"We will take all necessary steps to protect client confidentiality and have engaged external forensic counsel to conduct an urgent investigation into the source of any leak," the spokesman was further quoted as saying by the news agency.
The ICIJ has exclusively allowed The Guardian newspaper to analyze more than 20,000 of the names, all of whom had dealings with a discreet Jersey, Channel Islands branch of Kleinwort Benson.
Leaked records contain detail of the offshore links of political donors; international celebrities; judges; sportsmen; businessmen; and British aristocrats.
Names include opera singer Placido Domingo, Dire Straits musician Mark Knopfler, vacuum cleaner tycoon James Dyson and Hollywood actor Mel Gibson.

Direct donations from the Channel Islands are banned under funding rules.
The Jersey Financial Services Commission said it was aware of the leak but was not prepared to comment.
