In the newly created role, Sargent will report to Valentina Tacchino, head of private wealth management international.
Sargent was formerly associated with Coutts as director in the Middle East. In his ten-year tenure at Coutts, Sargent headed a team of six and developed several key international markets across the Middle East for the bank. He was also associated with ABN Amro Bank in Dubai and ANZ Investment Bank in London.
Tacchino said: "David has a proven track record in developing strong relationships with international clients and expanding teams. He is a welcome addition to our team as we continue to respond to the needs of multi-jurisdictional families and institutions across the globe."
