Unlike IRA accounts at most banks or stock brokerage firms, Kingdom Trust’s self-directed IRAs may hold alternative investments such as private-placement securities, physical precious metals, and real estate, as well as many other types of assets.

Kingdom Trust also provides institutional custody solution for the assets of family offices, investment advisors, and investment sponsors.

Michael Raneri, CEO of Venovate, said: "Venovate is a natural fit with Kingdom Trust’s business model. Both their institutional custody and self-directed IRA services are designed to help accredited investors and their advisors invest in private placements and alternative investment funds. This makes Kingdom Trust an ideal partner for Venovate Marketplace."

Venovate Marketplace will offer accredited investors with Kingdom Trust accounts access to private equity and venture capital investments in early and mid-stage growth companies, natural resources programs, and other structured opportunities. These investments can be made either in alternative investment funds or in primary offerings of private placement securities.

Lawson added: "Family offices and most investors with self-directed IRAs are accredited investors. Until now the selection of alternative opportunities has been limited and good information to evaluate them is not easy to find. Venovate changes all that by putting everything investors need in one online marketplace."

Tax qualified plans are appropriate for many alternative investments because they may not qualify for the favorable tax treatment accorded things like qualified stock dividends. Taxes on investments in qualified plans are deferred until retirement, or in the case of Roth IRAs – profits are not taxed at all.

Alternative investments are not without their risks.

Raneri added: "These are sophisticated deals, for accredited investors. That is why we provide full disclosure and information on each deal and even the ability to ask the sponsor questions."

Investors should read the materials carefully and consult their own advisors before making investments.
