Kames Capital, a UK-based asset manager, has named Brian Jack as head of treasury, a newly created role that combines responsibilities from a variety of positions.

In his new role, Jack will oversee management of cash and liquidity team, as well as make improvements to the team’s products to facilitate growth of assets under management. He will have assets of over £5bn (€6.9bn) under his remit, reported Funds Europe.

Jack will report to Bob Laws, who is head of investment implementation at Kames Capital.

Laws remarked: "Brian joins Kames at a very exciting time for our business as we look to strengthen our Treasury capabilities in order to support our growing and diversified fund management activities."

Jack most recently associated with Ignis Asset Management, where he headed the cash and securities lending/repo business.

Before that, he served in the role of an analyst and portfolio manager at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, where he jointly managed three multi-currency liquidity funds.
