UK-based Kames Capital, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aegon Asset Management, has appointed Stephen Jones, currently co-head of Fixed Income together with David Roberts, as CIO, subject to regulatory approval.
In his new role, Jones will cover all asset classes, building on his success in co-leading Kames Capital’s fixed income franchise.

Jones will succeed Andrew Fleming, joint chief executive and chief investment officer for eight years with the firm.
With more than 21 years’ industry experience, Jones joined Kames Capital in 2002 from Britannic Asset Management where he was an investment manager.
Additionally, Sarah Russell, CEO of Aegon Asset Management, will assume the role of interim CEO at Kames Capital (also subject to regulatory approval) while the search is conducted for Fleming’s replacement.
Russell will concentrate on strategy, governance and the further development of Kames Capital as a distinct business within Aegon Asset Management.
