Jupiter Asset Management has restructured its environmental and sustainable strategy team under which its governance team will renamed as governance research and Ashish Ray has been appointed as governance research manager.

In his new role, Ashish and his team will collaborate with the fund managers and support them in researching, co-ordinating and conducting dialogue with companies regarding corporate governance matters.

As part of the restructure, the firm has named Jupiter vice chairman Edward Bonham Carter to the board of the Investor Forum.

The Forum works with UK companies and aims to improve long-term returns to investors. Carter will work closely with Simon Franser, chairman of the Forum.

Additionally, Mark Evans will become sustainability investment analyst and Jon Wallace will be the environmental and responsible investment analyst. They will both report to Charlie Thomas, head of environment and sustainability investment strategy.

Evans will focus on sustainability issues and opportunities across Jupiter’s broader investment range, while Wallace will provide investment analysis ranging from in-depth company research to providing analysis on sectors, countries and themes.

Moreover, the restructure will see Emma Howard Boyd, who formerly served as sustainable investment and governance director and director of stewardship at Jupiter, becoming an external consultant.

Boyd will also provide advisory services on Stewardship matters to the executive committee.
