Jupiter Asset Management has named Jason McAleer as head of dealing replacing Jane Philips, who left the firm in September 2013 after a spell of 12 years.

In his new role, McAleer will be responsible for managing Jupiter’s team of eight dealers.

Prior to joining Jupiter, McAleer worked at Newton Investment Management for 14 years, where he has held the role of head of dealing for nine years.

Earlier to Newton, he has worked at Sarasin Investment Management and Chase Asset Management.

Rupert Corfield, head of investment risk and fund operations, said: "His broad experience and knowledge will be of significant benefit as we develop our fund management operations, both with regard to geography and financial instruments."
