Swiss private bank Julius Baer has named Oliver Bartholet as its new chief risk officer, replacing Bernhard Hodler who has been serving in the position since 2001.
In the new role, Bartholet will be tasked with management of market, operational, compliance and bank-related legal risks.

He will take up the new responsibility and also join the firm’s executive board on 1 April 2018.
Bartholet currently serves as the head of legal group regulatory and governance at UBS. He previously also worked as global head of tax and general counsel for the wealth management and Swiss bank division at UBS.
Meanwhile, Hodler will now serve as the deputy to the CEO, with responsibility for implementing strategic projects and heading the credit business. He will also continue as the bank’s executive board member.
