JPMorgan Chase has appointed former International Monetary Fund’s director Anoop Singh as it new regulatory strategy head in Hong Kong, effective from February.
In his new role, Singh will be responsible for assisting JPMorgan’s vast global operations respond to regulatory changes, reported Financial Times.

He will report to Tim Ryan, global head of regulatory strategy and policy for JPMorgan in Asia and Andrew Butcher, chief administrative officer for JPMorgan in Asia-Pacific.
The source added that both Singh and Ryan will also co-ordinate with Sally Dewar, who previously headed risk at the UK’s now defunct Financial Services Authority.
Previously, Singh led IMF missions to Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia during the Asian financial crisis in the 1990s, and he has also been involved with the agency in China, India, Japan and Australia.
