JPMorgan Asset Management has named Pietro Grassano as new country head for France.

Based in Paris, Grassano will focus on wholesale and retail operations in his new role.

Grassano, who joined the company in 2002, previously served as country head for Italy focusing primarily on fund sales.

Grassano joined JPMorgan from BNP Paribas Asset Management, where he worked as a client relationship manager covering wholesale and retail clients.

Prior to this, he spent four years at Andersen Consulting as a consultant in the finance practice.

Massimo Greco, head of European Funds, JPMorgan Asset Management, said: "We see France as a strategic growth opportunity for JP Morgan Asset Management in Europe, and we count on Pietro to build on the success we have already experienced to further increase our presence in the country."
