JP Morgan Asset Management has appointed Stephen Alcorn as new head of its institutional business in Australia.

In his new role, Alcorn will be responsible for managing the Australia institutional client advisory team.

Based in Sydney, Alcorn will report to Rachel Farrell, Singapore-based JP Morgan head of sovereign and institutional for South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Alcorn with 25 years of experience has joined JP Morgan from Australian Unity Investments, where he served as head of institutional. Prior to this, he also served as deputy managing director and head of Institutional at BNY Mellon Asset Management Australia.

Farrell said: "We are focused on building our business in Australia and delivering the strength of the firm’s global platform to local market investors.

"Stephen brings to JP Morgan Asset Management extensive local market experience, and will create strategic advantages for our clients by connecting them with our international network and delivering customised investment solutions," he added.
