J.P. Morgan Asset Management has appointed George Ahl as new managing director and client portfolio manager for global real assets unit.
In the newly created role, Ahl will be responsible to raise capital and advise clients for the company’s Real Estate Americas investment platform.

He will be based in New York, and will report to J.P. Morgan Asset Management – Global Real Assets managing director, head of business development and client strategy for real estate Americas, Alexia Gottschalch.
"George is an accomplished real estate professional with a 20-year track record of advising clients on how to leverage U.S. real estate to help achieve capital and strategic objectives in their portfolios. His solid understanding of the U.S. real estate market and longstanding relationships with institutional investors will further enhance our client strategy team and overall client experience," Gottschalch said.
Ahl most recently served as a managing director at Forum Partners, where he was tasked with capitalising global real estate investment strategies and setting up sector-focused, entity-level investment platforms in the US.
Prior to that, he served for over 16 years as a founding principal at M3 Capital Partners. Previously, he also had stints at Crimson Capital, LaSalle Partners and Merrill Lynch Capital Markets.
