JP Morgan Asset Management (JP Morgan AM) has appointed Stephanie Flanders, the economics editor of BBC News, as its chief market strategist for the UK and Europe.

In her new role, Flanders will be responsible for delivering insight into the economy and financial markets to thousands of professional investors across the UK, Europe and globally.

Based in London, Flanders will report to David Kelly, chief global strategist of JP Morgan Funds.

Flanders has been with BBC since 11 years, spending 5 years in her current role as economics editor. She will step down from this role with immediate effect and continue with her current work on TV shows taking up her new post at JP Morgan in November.
