Commenting on the deal, the owner of the acquired firm, Mike Taylor, said: "The Retail Distribution Review (RDR) deadline is a matter of weeks away and is forcing big regulatory changes on the market for Independent Financial advisers."

"We wanted to feel confident that our clients will be receiving the best possible financial advice and support post RDR and so took the decision to partner with a business which is already RDR ready," Taylor added.

Dave Williams, managing director for Jones Sheridan, said: "This year has been extremely fruitful in executing acquisitions and with the Retail Distribution Review just around the corner we expect this to continue into next year. We look forward to working with Mike Taylor during this period of transition and wish him all the best for the future."

Jones Sheridan Financial Consulting has also made a series of other acquisition deals this year.

The company had acquired Warrington-based K F Garner Financial Consulting, and the finance arm of Brown & Corbishley Solicitors, based in Newcastle-under-Lyme early 2012.
