Consolidator Independent Wealth Planners UK (IWP UK) has hired fintech entrepreneur Gemma Godfrey as its non-executive director to manage consumer insight and investment management.
Godfrey will chair the group investment management unit of IWP.

Godfrey stated: “I was drawn to IWP’s commitment to clients and approach to delivering a personal service. Post-pandemic, people’s priorities will continue to shift towards building the finances to support a more flexible working life. I look forward to ensuring the voice of the customer is heard and that they remain central to the business as it grows.”
Earlier, she led investment strategy for British wealth management firm Brooks Macdonald.
She also chaired the investment committee at Credo Capital.
Moreover, she had stints at Goldman Sachs as well as GAM.

At the same time, she launched Times Money Mentor for News UK.
She has also been serving as an adviser to the government on its 10-year plan to enhance the financial position of the UK.

IWP UK has been on a buying spree this year, the most being the acquisition of Carnelian Capital Management.
In 2020, the consolidator also purchased Westinsure Webb Financial Services, Prosper Wealth Management, AGL Wealth Management, Clairville York Financial Advisers, and Richmond House Wealth Management.
