After less than a year in the position, Jim Wood-Smith, chief investment strategist at Investec Wealth and Investment, has left the firm.
Investec took over Williams de Broe in 2011 where Wood-Smith had been head of research and chief investment officer. In September 2012, following the integration of Williams de Broe into the Investec business, Wood-Smith was appointed chief investment strategist.

In Wood-Smith’s role as chief investment strategist, production of market commentary was a key aspect.
Wood-Smith worked alongside the intermediary services team at Investec Wealth and Investment, and was a member of both the global investment strategy group and asset allocation committee.
Wood-Smith’s duties will, reportedly, be absorbed by the rest of the 18-strong research team and there were no current plans to replace him.
