Wyn-Evans joins the firm’s 19-strong research team succeeding John Haynes, head of research, who took on responsibility for providing advice on investment strategy to the firm’s IFA clients following the departure of Jim Wood-Smith.
Most recently, Wyn-Evans has worked as a consultant to Troy Asset Management, responsible for developing thematic research on economics, strategy and asset allocation.
Commenting on the appointment, John Haynes, head of research at Investec Wealth, said: "This is an important role as it brings our third-party clients into the heart of the investment process. Wyn-Evans is a hugely experienced investment professional who brings an additional layer of insight from his career on the sell-side and we are delighted he has agreed to join us."
