Investec Asset Management has appointed ex- Investment Management Association (IMA) chief Richard Saunders to its board as a non-executive director.
Saunders, who stepped down last year after a decade at the helm at the trade body, will take up his position with immediate effective.

Saunders previously worked at the Treasury and media group United News & Media. He was also head of the economic department at the British Embassy in Washington DC.
Investec CEO Hendrik du Toit said he had the highest regard for Saunders’ insights into the "challenges facing our industry".
Saunders said: "I am optimistic about the future of Investec Asset Management and I look forward to making a positive contribution to the governance of this exciting firm."
