Intellectus Partners, a Silicon Valley-based independent wealth management firm, has appointed Ben Emons as chief economist, head of credit and portfolio manager, and Brian Zeck as vice president of new products and services.

Emons will be based in the firm's soon-to-launch Los Angeles office, and will head the firm’s credit efforts in various aspects. He will initially focus on short duration, core and muni bond strategies. He will also join the firm’s investment committee.

Emons spent over 22 years as an analyst, trader, portfolio manager and economist. He has previously served at ABN Amro, IndyMac, Nuveen, and PIMCO.

Zeck will be based in San Francisco in the new role. He most recently served as a managing director of the fixed income mutual fund Leader Capital, where he was responsible for managing business development.

Both Emons and Zeck will report to Intellectus CEO David La Placa.
