ING Investment Management has appointed Shek Chee Seng as chief executive officer of ING Investment Management Singapore and head of client group Asia (ex Japan) of ING IM International, according to Asia Asset Management.

Shek replaces Steven Billiet, who is leaving to pursue a career outside ING.

Shek has over 20 years of experience in different senior roles with various asset managers.

He joins ING Investment Management Singapore from CIMB Securities (Singapore) where he was vice president, retail dealing.

Prior to that he was CEO at Reliance Asset Management in Singapore and before that, CEO at CITIC-Prudential Fund Management in China.

He was also CEO at HSBC Asset Management (Singapore) and ABN AMRO Asset Management (Singapore). Shek has started his career in the fund management industry with Citibank Global Asset Management, Singapore where he was the marketing director.
