The Investment Management Association (IMA) has appointed Julie Patterson as director of regulatory affairs for retail and funds, and Richard Metcalfe as director of regulatory affairs for institutional and capital markets.
Patterson is currently director of the trade body’s authorised funds and tax, while Metcalfe was formerly deputy head of EMEA at International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA).

IMA has created a new risk, compliance and legal directorate, which will be overseen by its current institutional director, Guy Sears.
IMA executive committee will include Jonathan Lipkin, director of public policy, and Annette Spencer, director of communications.
In addition, IMA has hired a new COO to complete the ExCo team.
Commenting on the appointments, IMA CEO Daniel Godfrey said, "We have made swift and good progress in 2013 towards our strategic goals, taking important steps forward in key areas such as greater transparency on charges and costs, stewardship and engagement by investors in the companies in which we invest, and working more closely with regulators, policy makers and all stakeholders."
