HSBC India’s head of wealth management and retail banking, Gannesh Bharadhwaj, has resigned from the bank.

Bharadhwaj, who was heading the division since July 2010, has left the bank for personal reasons, a spokesman for HSBC India said, adding thst the bank would announce the new business head in due course.

Bharadhwaj joined HSBC in 2002 as group director for marketing and business development – auto finance.

Prior to his latest role at HSBC, he headed the bank’s Asia-Pacific consumer assets business in Hong Kong that focused on credit and debit cards as well as loans.

Before joining HSBC, Bharadhwaj worked as chief executive of Infostrands and started his career in 1994, with Booz Allen Hamilton, a strategy and technology consulting firm.
