HSBC Switzerland has expanded its investment and client service units in Geneva, Zurich and Dubai by making new hires from competitors to pursue its growth.

The bank has poached Christopher Matthey from Goldman Sachs Asset Management as head of discretionary portfolio management Switzerland, he will be based in Geneva.

Elisabeth Istanboulli has been appointed from UBS Wealth Management as alternative investment specialist in Zurich.

Aster Eddo has been recruited to oversee investor relations for Switzerland alternative investments unit.

Olivier Nahas has joined HSBC from Syz Group as product specialist trader in Geneva, Alin Radu from Julius Bär as investment counsellor in Zurich, and David Dizerens from Credit Suisse as investment counsellor analyst in Zurich.

Sandip Aggarwal was appointed as head of the investment counsellor team in the Dubai International Financial Centre, where HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) opened a branch office in 2015.
