HSBC Private Banking has strengthened its leadership team in Southeast Asia with the appointments of Ken Ng and Gary Goh.

Ng and Goh have been named the market heads for Singapore and Malaysia, respectively.

The pair succeeds Chow Shang-Wei, who earlier held both the roles.

Shang-Wei has now joined Deutsche Bank, where he is the head of wealth management for Southeast Asia.

Ng and Goh have assumed their new responsibilities, with immediate effect.

They will operate out of Singapore and report to head of Southeast Asia Philip Kunz.

Ng has been working at HSBC since 1995. He joined its private banking unit in 2014 and was previously a desk head.

Goh has been working at HSBC since 2019.

Kunz noted: “Southeast Asia is home to some of the fastest-growing economies spurring a next generation of wealthy entrepreneurs.

“Singapore and Malaysia sit at the nexus as many entrepreneurs look to expand regionally.”

Recent management changes

HSBC Private Banking has made many leadership changes recently.

In April this year, it hired Caroline Kitidis as its head of Ultra High Net Worth for EMEA and the US.

In the same month, it appointed Sharon Oh as the COO of HSBC private banking in Asia-Pacific.

A month later, HSBC Private Banking appointed Lavanya Chari as the global head of products, investments and collaboration.
