Morra, who joined HSBC Private Bank in October 2010 as head of private banking in Switzerland, replaces Alexandre Zeller, who is said to have left the bank to pursue other opportunities.

Prior to HSBC, Morra was co-head of UBS’s flagship private banking unit in 2009 and also a member of their group executive board.

In his new role, Morra will report to Krishna Patel, CEO of global private banking at HSBC.

In a similar move, last week HSBC also replaced its southeast Asia CEO Nancie Dupier with Amit Gupta, who was head of global markets earlier.
