HSBC has appointed Ricardo Lanfranchi as head of local equity sales for Latin America.
In this new role, he will oversee the team covering domestic Latin American accounts while assisting with the further build-out of HSBC’s international equities franchise.

Lanfranchi will work closely with Gerard Watson, head of international equity sales for Latin America based in New York, to ensure effective delivery of the Bank’s global equity capabilities.
Lanfranchi will be based in Brazil and report functionally to Thomas O’Leary, head of equities for the Americas, and locally to Otavio Mendes, head of global markets for Brazil.
Lanfranchi joins HSBC from Barclays Capital where most recently he served as president of Barclay’s Corretora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários S.A and was responsible for the institution’s Brazil equities platform. He has also spent 12 years at Merrill Lynch managing the bank’s Brazil broker dealer.
