HSBC has appointed Kevin Martin as regional head of its retail banking and wealth management (RBWM) for Asia-Pacific with immediate effect.

Based in Hong Kong, Martin will be responsible for delivering the global RBWM strategy in Asia, reported The Asset.

Martin will succeed Louisa Cheang who has relocated to London to take up a new role as HSBC’s group head of retail banking.

Previously, Martin served as senior executive vice-president and RBWM and marketing head for North America.

Martin joined HSBC in 1987 and has worked in Australia as head of personal financial services and in a variety of roles in marketing, training, corporate banking and retail banking in the UK, Hong Kong, the US and Canada.
