HS Group is set to invest in a hedge fund, Zentific Investment Management, to be founded by Christopher Lee and Burke Lau.
Lee previously was head of BlackRock’s Scientific Active Equity department in Hong Kong and served on the Investment Board of BlackRock’s Pan Asia Opportunities Fund. Lau was formerly head of Asia & Japan Quant Research at Macquarie Securities.

Both of them will be joined by a team of research and programming professionals holding many years of systematic investment experience in Asia.
On the business side, the team will be headed by Michael Friedlander, ex-head of Asia operations, technology and onboarding at Millennium Capital Management Asia.
Friedlander formerly also worked as COO and CFO of APG Asia, where he was based in Hong Kong.
Zentific is due to launch its Pan Asia Market Neutral fund in early next year, with capital from institutional clients, founding partners as well as HS Sponsor Fund.
