Dominic Wheatley has been appointed as the new chief executive of Guernsey Finance.

Wheatley will succeed Fiona Le Poidevin, who resigned from the post in July.

With over 25 years of experience in the international financial services market in the UK and Guernsey, Wheatley most recently served as the managing director of Willis Management (Guernsey) Limited and as chief marketing officer of Willis’ international insurance management businesses.

Moreover, he also chaired the Guernsey International Business Association from 2011 to 2013, and before that was designated in the role of chairman in the Guernsey International Insurance Association from 2009 to 2011.

Jim Gilligan, the chairman of Guernsey Finance, said: "Having served as the Chairman of GIIA and most notably GIBA, Dominic is well versed in representing the interests of all sectors of Guernsey’s finance industry. His previous service as a Director of Guernsey Finance also means that Dominic already has a good understanding of the organisation’s core values, objectives and strategies."
