US investment bank Goldman Sachs has named Mark Winkelman and Mark Flaherty as new independent directors to its board.
The new hires will bring the total number of directors to 14.

Flaherty and Winkelman will also join the Board’s audit, risk and corporate governance, nominating and public responsibilities committees.
Flaherty joined Goldman Sachs from Wellington Management Company, where he served as vice chairman, director of global investment services and also as partner and senior vice president.
Prior to this, he held roles at Standish, Ayer and Wood as a director of equity trading, partner and an executive committee member. He also served as director of equity trading at Aetna.
Winkelman, who currently serves on the board of directors of Anheuser-Busch InBev, previously served as operating partner of J.C. Flowers & Co. He also held roles at Goldman Sachs, including as a member of the Management Committee, co-head of the fixed income division and head of the J. Aron Division and also served as a senior investment officer at The World Bank.
