GoldenTree Asset Management, which has primary offices in New York and London, has opened its new office in Singapore as part of plan to expand its global footprint.
The investment firm has appointed Shahriar Saadullah as managing director to oversee the business development in Asia Pacific, who will report to Kathy Sutherland, head of the GoldenTree’s Global Business Development.

According to the company, the Singapore office will initially concentrate on business development in permitted areas.
In addition, the firm also has future plans to recruit investment professionals to operate from that location.

Before joining GoldenTree, Saadullah was working as head of Asia Pacific for Citigroup’s Global Markets’ International Fund Distribution group.
He has also worked as the company’s structured product sales & marketing team and the Financial Institutions Group.
