Gold Bullion International (GBI) has hired Bob Alderman as new executive vice president and head of wealth management.

In his new role, Alderman will be tasked for business development and global distribution of the firm’s precious metals solutions to advisors and clients across all channels of wealth management.

Alderman joined GBI from the World Gold Council, where he worked as managing director for the retail business in the US and Europe, responsible for creating and sustaining demand for gold in the wealth management channel.

Prior to this, he worked with Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch. He served as national marketing manager for Merrill Lynch Asset Management.

Alderman said: "I look forward to working with our wealth management partners to create better awareness of gold as a foundation asset for advisors and their clients."
