The fund, which is run by François Gobron and aimed at professional investors, will comprise 100% equity exposure and will benefit from economic recovery in Southern Europe.

Gobron, with 13 years of asset management experience, has joined Generali Investments Europe in 2008.

Additionally, the fund has a small/mid-cap bias in its concentrated buy-and-hold portfolio that includes 35 to 40 core stocks.

Santo Borsellino, CEO of Generali Investments Europe, said: "The economies of peripheral Southern Europe are undergoing substantive structural adjustment which has depressed GDP growth over the past several years."
